We depart from your pickup point at 8.30 am. and travel to Geelong with a break for morning tea. We then drive along the Surf Coast through Torquay and Lorne to Apollo Bay by which time we should be hungry enough to take advantage of one of the many places offering lunch. Once refreshed we head for the most spectacular part of the Great Ocean Road and take time to explore some of the attractions of the Port Campbell National Park. We then stay in Warrnambool for our over night accommodation at the Riverside Gardens Motel. Phone 5562 8877

After a cooked breakfast we drive in to the Tower Hill State Game Reserve. This extinct volcano is the home for many native animals including koalas, kangaroos and emus. We then travel on through Kilarney, all very Irish, as they grow potatoes there, and explore Port Fairy. We will take our lunch break here. After lunch we will go to Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum where we can learn some of the history of the Shipwreck Coast. Logan's Beach, the best place to view the whales, is a very short drive from these attractions and we can go there at the most suitable time as advised by the Whale Watch people on the day. (As the whales are wild we can't guarantee that we will see them but the chances are good. We will have a good time anyway.) We then go back to our motel in time to freshen-up for dinner.

We will have a leisurely start this morning. After we pack and say farewell to our hosts our first stop is at the Fletcher Jones factory and the magnificent gardens that are worth visiting in themselves. We will return to Logan’s Beach for our last chance to look for the whales, have morning tea and then head for home through Camperdown. We will stop for lunch at Colac before travelling through Geelong, arriving back in Melbourne at approximately 5.00 pm.
